(WBRE/ WYOU)- Construction workers are taking down what’s left of the row homes and the M&M Sandwich Shop on West Centre Street in Ashland.
A fire engulfed the properties at the end of march taking down the sub shop several families homes.
Construction workers have been on site cleaning it up since Wednesday.
Business owners in the area say they remember going to the sub shop before the fire destroyed it and at least five other homes.
“I lived on that block and it has been there forever. It’s just like a staple in the town. It’s always been there. They’ve always had good food in there. It’s just going to be missed. I’m just hoping they rebuild somewhere else in town,” Robert Moser, owner of Moser Automotive said.
In February, firefighters battled a similar blaze that destroyed six row homes in Ashland.
