‘Dangerous Dog’ Owner Faces Charges, Troopers Received 26 Reports

News

EFFORT, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – The owner of a pack of dangerous dogs faces new charges this week in Monroe County.

State police have charged Mary Jo Dredger of Effort with four misdemeanor counts of ‘Recklessly Endangering Another Person’. This is in addition to ten citations Dredger has received since last May, which she pleaded guilty to and paid fines.

Troopers say since July 2017, they’ve received at least 26 reports from neighbors fearing for their lives, and the lives of their pets.

While roaming unsupervised around the Sun Valley community, troopers say Dredger’s three dogs have killed two other dogs, seven cats, and seriously injured another dog. Neighbors report being chased themselves, and in one case bitten.

Dredger remains free on $10,000 dollars unsecured bail and is due back in court next month for these latest charges.
