Counterfeit Check Investigation in Scranton

Scranton Police are trying to identify several people they say used a counterfeit check to steal thousands of dollars.
Police say the fake check totaling more than 47-hundred dollars was deposited using an a-t-m at community bank on Wyoming Avenue in Scranton.

Before bank officials realized that the check was fake investigators say the suspects had already withdrawn more than $25,000 dollars of that money from another community bank branch in Kingston.

If you recognize any of the people – you are asked to call Scranton Police.
