State police: Pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicle in Hazle Township

HAZLE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — One man is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Hazle Township, according to a crash release from state police.

Around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night, state police and a PSP forensics unit were dispatched to the 1000 block of Harwood Road for a crash involving a pedestrian.

Jeremy J. Petrylak, 34, was walking in the middle of the road wearing dark clothing when he was struck by a vehicle, PSP Hazleton say. The driver was unable to avoid the collision.

Petrylak was pronounced dead at the scene just before 9 p.m.

State police say the driver was uninjured and no charges will be filed against the driver.
