(WBRE/WYOU-TV) Dog owners in Schuylkill County could soon have a designated place to play with their dogs and soak up some fresh air.
A community dog park is in the works for Pottsville.
The goal is to turn the Peacock Street Park into a place where people can unleash their dogs and mingle with other dog owners.
No design has been finalized but the space would have water, benches, and areas for both big and little dogs to let loose.
The city administrator says they are in the early stages of planning.
“We want to make sure that it is secure. That it’s safe. That it’s being used properly and managed properly because we certainly want to make sure that that’s done so that it is an asset to the community and not a problem,” Said Tom Palamar, Administrator City of Pottsville.
