SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY(WBRE/WYOU) – Closing arguments got underway Thursday morning in the trial of a former Lackawanna County corrections officer.

George McHale took the stand in his own trial on Wednesday. He is accused of having inappropriate contact with a female inmate in 2009.

McHale claims he never met the victim inside or out of the prison. He also told the jury that he never worked the block that the victim was housed in.

Eyewitness News has a crew at the closing arguments and will have an update as soon as they wrap up.
