The future of an ambulance company in the Pocono is uncertain
Pocono Township Supervisors issued a request for proposals for an ambulance company.
This comes after Central Pocono Ambulance has had financial issues and was accused of mismanaging money.
The township gives the company 100-thousand-dollars a year and pays for ambulance gas.
However, ambulance company representatives repeatedly ask the public for financial support.
Township Manager Gregg Schuster says township leaders just want to make sure they have the best possible ambulance company serving their community.
Ambulance company representatives did not return our request for comment.
And for now, Central Pocono Ambulance will continue to serve the Tannersville region.
