(WBRE/WYOU-TV) Four wheels helping our friends with four legs. The Susquehanna Brewing Company in Luzerne County is getting ready for their “Cars for the Paws” event to help a local animal shelter. Eyewitness News Reporter Anja Whitehead takes us to the brewery
At Susquehanna Brewing Company they’re using craft beers and a variety of cars on display to raise funds for dogs like Taz and Brock.
“We’re all really dog lovers at this place and animal lovers and they do such great things up there so we really wanted to be able to give back to them. I know they take on a lot with all the animals they have there”, Said Mallory Strubeck, Marketing & Community Relations Coordinator
The event is expected to draw people with many different interests.
“It brings a lot of different people, for the beer, for the cars, but then for the dogs too. Car lovers can talk shop over a cold brew”, Said Emma Ripka, Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge.
“It just shines to me. It’s not really about showing it (the car) off to people for me. It’s just trying to always learn new things and better myself as well as the car,” Said Edge Miller, Car Enthusiast.
“I think the funniest thing for me is not showing off my car but seeing what other people have and learning more about American cars, Japanese cars, and the difference between them,” Added Max Banks, Car Enthusiast.
Those who work at Blue Chip tell Eyewitness News, they can really use all the help they can get.
“On top of the dogs we have almost 200 cats, we usually have 10 to 15 rabbits at a time. So on top of the dogs and all of them, the vet bills get pretty high,” Said Emma Ripka.
And as for the brewery, they are happy to bring the community together for a good cause.
“Everyone locally supports us so well with our brands and our products, and we just want to give back and support the people that support us,” Added Mallory Strubeck.
If you want to help the Animals at Blue Chip you can go to the event at “Susquehanna Brewing Company” this Saturday, April 27 from 1-6 p-m.
