Middleburg, Snyder County (WBRE/WYOU-TV) Women looking for hope can find some at a place in Snyder County. ‘By Grace Transitional Home’ opened back in June and has been a life changing opportunity for many who just visit.
“This is where I sleep at night and this is kind of one of the rooms that’s just for one individual,” said Jennifer Tricoli a resident at the home showed our Cody Butler around.
Tricoli is guaranteed at least two years at ‘By Grace’ along with 12 other women. “It’s a good cushion to know that, there, just so you don’t have to, you know, in the next two days up route your entire life again,” said Tricoli.
Before Jennifer had to move shelter to shelter not knowing if she would have a bed the next night. Not only does ‘By Grace’ provide that, but, Grace Covenant Community Church volunteers help them get out of what might be their darkest time.
“Give women a stable environment so they can really flourish and be their best,” said Volunteer Stephanie Burke.
Burke helps the women here with finding a job, maintaining employment, teach them how to budget and really help them set and meet their own personal goal.
“While the volunteers help the women get back on their feet the ladies at the home well they help cook and clean.
A month schedule shows whose turn it is in the kitchen. It gives them a feeling of home and family when sitting down down at the dinner table.
“We want to be more than just a shelter, more than, just a roof,” said Burke standing around the dinner table.
Burke says it’s an extension of God’s love for women and their children to grow in a healthy environment.
“If this was not available to me I would still be sleeping in my car right now fighting for custody of my daughter,” said Tricoli.
Since finding her home here Tricoli has found two jobs and is looking to move out in the near future.
The ‘By Grace Transitional Home’ is solely run by volunteers and donations. If you would like to donate monetary, food, clothing, bedding etc. You can mail or drop off donations at 99 Cafe Lane, Middleburg, PA 17842.
