SCOTT TOWNSHIP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) A big name in the local trucking industry is pulling his rigs off the road.
Bob Bolus announced Wednesday he’s shutting down several of his businesses in Lackawanna County. He attended the commissioners meeting Thursday night to express to them why he’s ending his 57 years in business.
Bolus says the tax claim director filed a lien after taxes were not paid on one of his properties. Something the county says they are not support to do. Forcing Bolus to file for bankruptcy.
“Ultimately though we paid the price and a lot of good people have lost their jobs over it and I don’t want anything to do with this county anymore,” said Bolus, businessman.
“families have depended on him for income and it’s heart breaking to see that happen,” said Commissioner Laureen Cummings.
Bob Bolus is planning on selling his tractors, trailers, parts, and possibly real estate.
