Busch Wins at Long Pond, Junior Says Goodbye


LONG POND, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) Perfect racing weather, for the tens of thousands of race fans who turned out for this weekend’s “Overton’s 400” at Pocono Raceway.
Kyle Busch won the pole Sunday, and was looking for his first win at Pocono.

It was a wild race, with the first wreck on lap 1,
Matt Kenseth goes sideways and takes out a half-dozen cars.

Later, with  Kevin Harvick in front with 16 laps to go, Busch makes the pass.

He took the lead and never looked back, cruising to a big win, his first at Pocono, and first of the year.

 Sunday was also a bitter sweet day for many race fans.
 It was the final run at the Tricky Triangle for fan favorite Dale Earnhardt Junior.

The 42 year-old former champion is retiring at the end of the year.

  He won 26 races in his career, two of them at Pocono.
His last race is expected to be in November at the Homestead-Miami Speedway
