NANTICOKE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Multiple police units were in an area of Nanticoke for an active investigation resulting in two men’s arrests.
Around of 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, police had a portion of East Green Street in Nanticoke shut down during the incident.


Eyewitness News was on the scene where investigators stated the U.S. Marshals along with Hanover Township police and Newport Township police served an arrest warrant.
Law enforcement stated during the search they forced their way into the residence from the back of the home. As a result of the warrant served, two men were arrested Tuesday afternoon.
According to the U.S. Marshals, Brandon Mayewski was wanted for multiple police pursuits and was on parole for possession with intent to distribute narcotics.

Mayewski was arraigned on charges of possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl) and possession of drug paraphernalia. He remains in the Luzerne County Correctional Facility on a $25,000 bail.
Hanover Township Police Department stated Mayewski will face additional charges for his involvement in other crimes being investigated by police.
Investigators say Joseph Bobbin was also inside the house and was arrested for prior and current arrest warrants.
U.S. Marshal told Eyewitness News that one man tried to escape under the porch, fled to the basement, and tried to crawl out.
