Bowmanstown Mural Project

BOWMANSTOWN, CARBON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A local community is gearing up for a big art project. The Bowmanstown area residents connected group is announcing a mural project, and the community is invited to help out.

Residents will pick-up paint brushes and help create a mural on the north and west walls surrounding borough hall. The mural will commemorate important events, values and places in the town’s history. An award-winning artist out of Philadelphia will come up with the design.

“By creating this mural, it creates a legacy. We can look at it and be like we did this, we made it happen. We can look at it and it will be a brighter, nicer home for us and our children,” said Kara Scott.

The mural is expected to last more than 20 years. Residents are encouraged to pitch design ideas at tomorrow night’s council meeting.
