Body found in Lake Silkworth confirmed as that of Adam Lutz

LEHMAN TOWNSHIP LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – Pennsylvania State Police confirmed to Eyewitness News Friday theyrecovered the body of Adam Lutz, a Luzerne County man missing since early November.

Police say his body was found with the aid of a mini-submarine in Lake Silkworth, the area that authorities had been searching since Lutz went missing November 9th.

The body was recovered from Silkworth Lake about 1pm Friday afternoon and shortly afterwards the identity was confirmed by family members.

Crews spent five days of intense searching for the 22 year old Nanticoke man, using dive and K9 teams from throughout the area.

Through surveillance video, Lutz was last seen pulled over on Roberts Road, got out of his vehicle and walked towards the lake. Authorities did locate his boot and hat near the lake.

Investigators are not saying at this time whether the death is suspicious, an Assistant Luzerne County Attorney is now on scene.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday.
