Blind Magician Supports Service Dogs

News

POTTSVILLE, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A Schuylkill County man is proof that a disability should never hold you back.

Lenny McHugh is blind, but that isn’t stopping him from pursuing his dream to be a magician.

Lenny said his magic shows will help other people with disabilities get their own service dog.

His current companion, a two-year-old black lab named Otter, is Lenny’s fourth dog from Freedom Guide Dogs.

Besides giving back to the organization that gave him so much, Lenny hopes to inspire the next generation, sharing a powerful message that no matter what happens in your life, giving up is never the answer.

If you missed Friday night’s Motivational Magic show, Lenny will be performing again Saturday night.

The show starts at 6 p.m. at the Majestic Theater on Centre Street in Pottsville.

Freedom Guide Dogs has given away about 400 dogs to those who qualify since the company was founded.  Click here to learn more about the non-profit organization.
