BERWICK, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A softball player from Columbia County is getting national attention.
The catch heard across the country was snagged by Katie Starr.
Clearly, the Berwick Area High School sophomore lives up to her last name.
The center fielder’s spectacular grab in Tuesday’s game against Crestwood landed her a spot on SportsCenter.
The video has hundreds of thousands of hits on Twitter.
“It hurt right when I hit it, but once I got up, started walking around, the pain slowly went away,” said Starr. “I knew I had to be there for my team, so I shook it off to get ready for the next one.”
The 16-year-old slugged a home run the very next inning, and Berwick went on to win the game 5 to 3.
