BENTON, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) Bulls, horses and a whole lot of fun! That describes a great night at the Benton Rodeo.
The annual rodeo in Columbia County is expected to attract thousands throughout the weekend. Spectators come from northeastern and central Pennsylvania to watch cowboys and cowgirls from all over the country hold on for 8 seconds or take down a bull.
The rodeo started on Tuesday with a children’s night and then the first rodeo was Thursday night. But, Eyewitness News stopped by Friday night.
The rodeo puts Benton on the map for tourism and helps local fire and ambulance departments along with church groups raise money.
The event runs through Sunday. Food opens up at five o’clock with the main events happening at 7:30.
