(WBRE/WYOU-TV) Memorial Day is over, but it’s never too late to give back to our veterans.
Beckoning Cat Project in Williamsport offered free spaying and neutering for veteran’s cats throughout the day.
All vets had to do was schedule an appointment and bring their military identification with them.
Members with the cat shelter hold this event twice a year.
They say it’s a no brainer for people to get their cats spayed and neutered when they’re kittens. And why not do something special for the veterans in the area.
“Well like I said for me my family has had a lot of veterans my dad was a veteran I lost a cousin in the Vietnam War. So I feel very strongly about it. They work hard for us they’re outputting themselves their lives on the line every day and this is the least we can do” Said Kerry Perry, Executive Director Beckoning Cat Project.
The next free spaying and neutering of cats for veterans will be held on Veterans Day.
