MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU-TV) Students and teachers head back to school following a teacher’s strike in the East Stroudsburg School District.
Eyewitness News cameras were there as buses were dropping off students Wednesday morning at East Stroudsburg High School South.
Teachers first hit the picket line on September 10th.
The strike ended when the board of education and East Stroudsburg Education Association reached a contract agreement at Monday’s School Board meeting.
We spoke with seniors who were eager to get back to class.
” Pushing back my graduation date it was kind of rough but I’m happy to be back. I never thought I would be saying that because I would also be worried because I know we are going to have snow days too”.Said Joseph Capasso, Senior.
This marked the first time in the district’s history’s there was a teacher’s strike.
