WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU-TV) A church in Lycoming County spent Monday afternoon giving back in memory of Doctor Martin Luther King, Junior.
Members of Saint Joseph the Worker Parish in Williamsport cooked lunch and served it to the Williamsport firefighters.
They prepared salad, goulash, and cookies for the crew.
Members say they decided to serve their neighbors, as a part of Martin Luther King Day.
For them, it was a small gesture to show their gratitude to the department.
“We just want to say thank you to all of them for all of the wonderful work they do. These firefighters do so much for us they’re putting their lives on the line every single day and they’re so…they’re so wonderful” said Colleen Eisley.
The Saint Joseph The Worker Parish does several service projects for the fire department throughout the year.
