Apparent Case of Road Rage in the Poconos

POCONO TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — An apparent case of road rage was caught on camera in the Poconos.

The video already has more than 100,000 views on Facebook.

Mark Maggio said he felt like “a target” as he was riding his motorcycle through Monroe County on Monday.

He said the woman behind him on State Route 611 was just a few inches away from his bike, beeping the horn, and driving aggressively for a few miles.

In the video, you can see the woman launch her drink at Mark, then as she tries to drive around him, he said she smashed into him and left the scene.

This incident is bringing attention to the dangers of aggressive driving.

“Aggressive driving is caused by impatient, frustrated, and angry drivers,” said Tracy Fox with the North Central Highway Safety Network.  “When that happens, they start taking it out on whoever is around, and that’s what makes it dangerous!”

She said if you find yourself in a bad situation, try to get out of the way, don’t acknowledge the other driver, and call 9-1-1 with as much information as possible.

Pocono Township Police said they are aware of this case and it’s under investigation.
