American Legion holds fundraiser to help homeless veterans

WYALUSING, BRADFORD COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) People in Bradford County came out for a great cause this morning.
The American Legion in Wyalusing hosted its fifth annual fundraiser for homeless veterans.
The fundraiser featured a car show, vendors, an auction and food.
Those we spoke with say helping out veterans in need is the least they could do.

“The veterans sacrified part of their lives to keep us free it’s our way of giving back to them,” said George Weaver, Sons of the American Legion.

“We’re helping veterans who run into a little financial problem with their rent and maybe different things like that where they need assistance,” said Mike Stelacio, executive committee.

All proceeds raised will benefit housing for Homeless Veterans Corporation of Pennsylvania.
To date the event has raised over $25,000.
