Trevorton, Northumberland County – An ambulance company needs more volunteers to continue to serve the community.
Trevorton Community Ambulance is currently facing a volunteer shortage that could cause them to close. With just six volunteers and two of them being on call, the company could shut down before March 2016 if it does not get five or more volunteers.
“You know not having the ambulance for the community, it would be devastating,” said John Benick of Trevorton.
If the company closes that leaves Shamokin to provide services to the Trevorton community. That service coming from Area Services.
“We already are out servicing the area now. They won’t see much of a difference other than when their ambulance is not in service, we might be a couple minutes late,” said Berni Rumberger, President of Area Services.
Trevorton Community Ambulance celebrated their 75th anniversary this year.
