(WBRE/WYOU-TV) Something new is coming to Tricky Triangle this summer and for the first time, fans at Pocono Raceway will turn their attention from the track to the skies.
Along with two Nascar races and one Indy car race this summer fans will also be treated to the first ever Great Pocono Raceway Air Show. Fans will sit in the grandstand and watch planes fly almost eye level from turn three to turn one. Pocono Raceway C-E-O Nick Igdalsky says it’s a truly unique experience and there’s never been an air show like it in the country.
“It’ll be a grandstand only event, the infield will be part of our safety box the demonstration box, so nobody will be allowed in the infield but in the infield we will have a couple 100 reenactors for the big grand finale which is the Tora, Tora, Tora show and that’s a reenactment of the bombing of pearl harbor so there will be giant pyrotechnics going off all throughout the infield.”
The Great Pocono Raceway Air show is August 24th and 25th.
