After the Storm- Progress Report on the Arena Hub Plaza

WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU-TV) The cleanup and repairs at the Arena Hub continues following the June tornado.  The I-Team’s Andy Mehalshick has a progress report.

"In some ways, it's been difficult circumstance but in other ways, it’s been very rewarding," said Robert Tamburro, owner of the Arena Hub Plaza,

Tamburro’s company owns the Arena Hub Plaza. 10 of 24 businesses were damaged by the tornado. Half of them have reopened; others are a work in progress.

"Some of the stores that we are looking to getting online very shortly is Dick's Sporting Goods Staples, Pet Smart and Barnes and Noble." Said Tamburro.

Each business has its own unique floor plan.

"So we are working with tenant personnel to make sure that we're putting the store back together in a way that it should be."  Noted Tamburro.

Many stores have placed signs along the roads leading into the Arena Hub alerting shoppers that they are open for business. Shoppers like Ron Evans says is making the rounds of those stores today.   "It feels great when I first came up here and saw everything it was depressing. When you saw some of the stores you go to. It's nice to see Eddie Bauer back open."
