A Little Love: Meet Veronica December 2015

Elysburg, Northumberland County – Veronica’s love of horses started long before this sunny day spent in Northumberland County.

“I alway rode, ever since I was little,” said the smiling 17-year-old.  “I just like the freedom, they give you.”

After meeting Hannah, a 17-year-old Palomino Quarter Horse, that love is guaranteed to last a lifetime.

“I liked Hannah,” said Veronica.  “I liked how calm she was, and how she listened to commands.”

“There’s a wonderous bond that happens between horse and human, but you have to love horses, that’s the main thing,” said riding instructor Kill Noll of Bear Gap Riding Center.

Noll led the day’s riding session and was instantly impressed with how Veronica handled herself around Hannah.

“When someone has a passion and love for horses, they’ll do anything,” added Noll.  “She picked it up, but she has the willingness to learn and she respected the horse.”

It’s not just her love for horses, it’s her love for everyone that you first notice when you meet Veronica.

“Veronica’s smile is one of her main features,” said permanency specialist, Melinda Ross.  “Her smile lights up the room.”

And Veronica would love to share that smile with a family of her own.

“I want a family that’s supportive and understanding of what I’ve been through,” she said.  “I want a caring family and one that will be there for me when I need them.”
