PLAINS TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – Jason is a 17-year-old young man who could spend all day caring for animals, and now he’s looking to share that love with a family as well.
Adoption supervisor Rebecca Nallon can’t say enough good things about him.
“Jason is a great guy,” says Nallon, from the Children Service Center. “He has such a big personality and such a big heart. He is so loving and sweet.”
You see those qualities right away as this animal lover gets a tour of the Luzerne County SPCA in Plains Township. Of course that involves playing with the puppies like 5-month-old Meatball.
Jason doesn’t communicate traditionally and uses software on a tablet to help express himself to the world. But it’s impossible for those who meet him to miss his joy for life.
“He just greets you with the biggest smile, the biggest wave, high fives,” says Nallon. “He is such a happy guy. He just loves to be with people.”
Jason wants to share his interests with future parents.
“Unfortunately right now he doesn’t get to live with any animals,” says Nallon. “But he would love to have a family that has animals because they mean a lot to him.”
Maybe it’s Jason’s respect for ‘man’s best friend’ that’s left a mark on him over the years. Because Nallon says one of his most impressive qualities is loyalty.
“He just really needs a family that’s going to be able to be there with him for the rest of his life and he will never walk away from that family,” says Nallon.
