BARTONSVILLE, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) Vehicles, big trucks, and one highway. sometimes the three don’t mix very well.

A program in the Poconos helped show the importance of sharing the road.

“Monroe Career and Technical Institute” students learned this in a very hands-on way  on Thursday.

They sat in a tractor trailer driver seat and were able to experience for themselves what drivers can and can’t see.

They also learned how to safely pass the big rigs, and got a close-up look at them.

“When you’re going down the road and you see a truck driver, he doesn’t see you. You can see everything he’s doing, but he can’t see you.” said Nick Rodgers, A senior at the Stroudsburg High School

Walmart, North Central Highway safety network and Monroe county career and technical institute made the program possible.
