9/11 Memorial Ceremonies


Scranton, Lackawanna County (WBRE/WYOU)  Today marks the 16 th Anniversary of the 9-11 terror attacks, and there are numerous memorials planned.

Many are expected to gather in front of the 9-11 Memorial in McDade Park in Scranton to reflect and remember the tragedy that took place 16 years-ago today.  Prayers, songs and a wreath laying will be parts of the ceremony. The names of local people who died in the attack will be read.

Besides Scranton, other events include a memorial with 7,000 American flags set up at Bloomsburg University in Columbia County.  Luzerne County Community College will hold a September 11 th remembrance ceremony at 10 am, and the Wyoming Valley Interfaith Council will hold services at noon in the JCC parking lot in Wilkes-Barre
