LEWISBURG, UNION COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) Ice is sure to stay frozen in this brutal cold we’ve been having.
That’s good news for dozens of ice sculptures lining the hear of Lewisburg. The 16th annual Heart of Lewisburg Ice Festival kicked off Friday monring and will go through Saturday night.
Jared McAlister sculps three dozen for the festival. McAlister comes up from State College each year. He and his team do all but three in December ahead of the festival on scene.

Saturday, February 2nd
8:00 am 12:00 noon, Lions Club Pancake Breakfast, 131 Market Street, serving all you can eat pancakes and sausage,
coffee, tea, milk and orange juice. Kids 0 to 4 free, 5 to 12 $5.00, 12 and over $8.00
9:30 am, Lewisburg Sunset Rotary Frosty 5K. Event starts at the historic Campus Theatre.

1:00 to 5:00 p.m., Chocolate Tour, participating merchants in downtown Lewisburg, sponsored by Donald Heiter.
2:00 p.m. Polar Bear Plunge, St. George Street Landing. On-Site registration begins at 12:30 day of the event.
3:00 – 5:00 pm, Chili Cookoff – at the Bull Run Tap House, 605 Market Street, sponsored Lewisburg Sunset Rotary
7:00 p.m. Annual Chocolate Festival to benefit the Donald L. Heiter Community Center.
February 1st & 2nd Helping Hands Fundraiser at the Lewisburg Children’s Museum. Leave your mark on the LCM by painting a handprint and signature on the hallway wall. Cost of participation is $20.
Warm your Hearts at Brushstrokes, 340 Market Street. During the festival and Sunday noon to 4pm, drop off donated items and funds for local animal shelters and rescues.
