The third time’s going to be a charm! That’s right: this Saturday will finally bring the Dragon Boats back to the Susquehanna Riverfront for 2015. This year’s competition, which was delayed twice during the summer by the weather forecast, will be held as scheduled on this coming Saturday morning, August 29.

So, join the free festivities in Nesbitt Park from on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and enjoy watching eight different dragon boat teams compete to become this year’s champions of the Susquehanna.

If you prefer yoga, Saturday morning brings the final scheduled Yoga on the River session for this summer. Instructor Jennifer Ciarimboli leads this session at 10 AM at the Millennium Circle landing on the northern end of the River Common.

Yoga on the river’s east bank, dragon boats on the river’s west bank – this Saturday morning’s activities are an example of how the volunteers of the Riverfront Parks Committee patiently continue to develop a full range of programming for Wilkes-Barre’s downtown riverfront – one of our community’s most unique resources. Why not check out our Riverfront Parks for yourself this weekend?

Hoping to see you soon in Downtown Wilkes-Barre!
