A community breakfast and prayer time is planned in Tamaqua to mark the National Day of Prayer, Thursday, May 3
The event begins at 9 a.m. with breakfast served in Founders Hall at Trinity United Church of Christ, 22 Washington St., Tamaqua.
Following the meal, participants will move outside to the parking lot overlooking Tamaqua to offer prayers for various areas of American society and culture. The prayer portion will be led by members of the Tamaqua Ministerial Association.
All are welcome. A free-will offering of $5 is suggested and will be taken to defray the cost of the breakfast. Excess offerings will be donated to the Tamaqua Hunger Walk that weekend.
Those wishing to attend just the prayer portion of the program should arrive at the church by 9:45 a.m.
