(WBRE/WYOU-TV) Former Philadelphia Eagle great Jason Avant participated in a pep rally at West Scranton High School on Thursday,  with more than 150 students to introduce Fuel Up to Play 60.

The nation’s largest student-led, in-school nutrition and fitness initiative, which encourages students to eat healthier by fueling up on nutritious foods and getting active for 60 minutes a day.

Along with Avant and the students, a Pennsylvania dairy farmer and staff from American Dairy Association North East took part in interactive activities including a “Dairy Aisle Dash” where teams of students competed in an obstacle course relay shopping trip, and a cafeteria taste test that gave students a chance to sample yogurt smoothies.
