The Pittston Area Ice Hockey Club will be hosting the 20th annual Blue and Gold Skate game on Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Toyota SportsPlex in Wilkes-Barre.

Rivals Pittston Area and Wyoming Area will face off in this annual fundraising hockey game. Puck drop is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students. Each year the proceeds are donated to a charity of the host’s team choice.

For the 2019 game, proceeds will be donated to 7-year-old Luciano Mancini, a second grader in the Pittston Area School District. One month ago, Luciano was diagnosed with an aggressive form of neuroblastoma. Neuroblastoma is a rare childhood cancer of the sympathetic nervous system. Luciano is the son of Justin and Margaret Mancini and big brother to his 5-year-old sister Olivia.

All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Luciano and his family. In addition to the hockey game, there will also be a 50/50 raffle along with a basket raffle. Baskets include Penn State baskets, lottery and movie ticket baskets, goodies and gift cards from local restaurants in Lackawanna and Luzerne counties and much more.

For more information on the game or to donate a raffle item, contact Henry Augenstein at 570-881-1916.
