The Herr Memorial Library presents a new Girls & Dolls Book Club. The first club meeting is Saturday, September 17th at 2:00 pm for our welcome to the club tea party. This club is for children ages five and up and meets on the third Saturday of each month.
Created by Lorie Hernesh, the Children’s Program Coordinator, the Girls & Dolls Book Club, helps educate, inspire and encourage its members to try new things, be creative and positive, be involved in the community and most importantly be themselves. Children experience excerpts from stories and will be participating in make and take crafts, activities, games and more.
Each club meeting features a different character or theme and celebrates holidays and events throughout the year. Special “role model” guests speak at club meetings to share their stories, hobbies and interests. Club reading challenges and accomplished activities are also rewarded. For the first club meeting, we are spotlighting Grace from American Girl®. Grace is a girl who is positive and determined and she loves dogs, Paris and baking. Experience a day in the life of Grace! Dolls from the collections of American Girl®, Our Generation®, My Life®, Barbie® and others are welcome to join in the fun but are not required.
All club meetings are held at the Herr Memorial Library located at 500 Market Street in Mifflinburg. Future club meetings will be held on October 15th, November 19th and December 17th. Space is limited and registration is required by calling 570-966-0831 or visiting the circulation desk at the library.
