Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania will host speaker Scott Prendergast for “Minding your Mind” for Mental Health March on Thursday, March 28, at 6:30 p.m. in the Kehr Union Building ballroom. This event is free and open to the campus community. Light refreshments will be served.
Prendergast will lecture about depression and mental health. He will discuss his own experiences with depression throughout his high school and college years and how he turned his world around by incorporating positivity into his life. By harnessing the power of positive self-talk, Prendergast realized that thoughts are just as important as actions. He works to inspire others to climb out of the darkness and find the light in their lives.
Minding Your Mind is a nonprofit organization with a mission of reducing stigma and destructive behaviors associated with mental health issues while promoting help-seeking behavior in youth through education. Minding Your Mind speakers focus on breaking the silence through education with powerful and effective messages of inspiration and hope based on their shared journeys in coping with a mental health issue. Programs create a safe space for communication and aim to normalize the conversation around mental health.
The BU Health & Wellness and the McDowell Institute are sponsoring the event. For more information on Minding your Mind’s speakers, visithttp://mindingyourmind.org/.
