ALLENTOWN, Lehigh County (WBRE/WYOU) – Even the most quiet and reserved of people can come out of their shell once you add a little friendly competition into the mix. That was the case when we met up with 13-year-old Randy, a very thoughtful young man looking for a home.
Randy loves all things video games and Power Rangers, so he suited up at Lehigh Valley Laser Tag in Allentown to show his skills.
“Randy is a very playful, sweet, affectionate, engaging, young man,” says Kim Hillman, adoption recruiter with Pine Brook Family Answers in Allentown.
Hillman has been working with Randy for nearly two years. She played along at Lehigh Valley Laser Tag as well.
Randy was ready for the matchup, channeling his favorite superhero: Batman.
Even though it was Randy’s first time ever playing laser tag, he quickly became a master. This was no surprise to Hillman.
“At first he’s a little reserved,” says Hillman. “It takes him a few minutes to trust and warm up. But as soon as he does, you’ll see that silly side of him, that bright smile, and his great personality shining through.”
Randy also excells in the classroom.
“I’m really good at spelling,” says Randy.
But he wants a family like yours to help him learn and do new things.
“He has shared an interest in wanting to learn how to play baseball,” says Hillman.
That’s where you come in. Randy is a team player who wants to meet a forever family and take them on for the next round of laser tag.
