Wilkes University New Science Center

Hundreds of alumni, government officials and members of the university were there as the sign for the $35 million dollar center was unveiled.
Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County-A local university showed its dedication to science by dedicating a state of the art building.
  Wilkes University held the ceremony for the Lawrence and Sally Cohen Science Center Friday afternoon . complete with confetti and a big show of thanks from students.
Hundreds of alumni, government officials and members of the university were there as the sign for the $35 million dollar center was unveiled.
Students are excited about using the center for the first time this semester.
 
"It's given us a lot of opportunities to do things that other universities aren't able to do, we're one of the leading universities in the science and engineering and really looking forward to working there." said Cody Welgosh, a Senior at Wilkes
 
"I see this building as really helping us to attract more of the top science students because it really reflects our position as a leader in science education." added Vicki Mayk, Associate Director of Public Relations at Wilkes University.

 
The Cohen Center at Wilkes includes several environmentally friendly features.
