Waverly Comm to offer Etiquette Classes for Children and Teens

The classes include: Social Etiquette, Communication Skills, and Table Manners which are taught through a life skills approach. Good manners cost little and opens big doors!
The Waverly Community House is pleased to welcome certified etiquette expert, Jill Evans Kryston of Defining Manners, back this fall to provide a series of classes for children and teens. The classes include: Social Etiquette, Communication Skills, and Table Manners which are taught through a life skills approach. Good manners cost little and opens big doors!
Two age-appropriate sessions will be offered each Saturday in the Scout Room, beginning on Saturday, September 28th.  Classes for children ages 4 to 7 will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and classes for children and teens ages 8 to 14 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m.  The topics include:

Saturday, September 28:
“How to Say it Best” – La Petit Protocol (Ages 4-7)  Young children learn the first steps for effective communication which creates self-esteem and builds leadership abilities in the future.  (Fee: $30)
 
“The Communication Connection” – Le Grand Protocol (Ages 8-14)  The object of this class is to develop positive communication skills which translate into a confident and effective leader in the future.  (Fee: $35)
 
Saturday, October 12:
“Say Please, Say Thank you” – La Petit Protocol (Ages 4-7)  Knowledge and skill in social etiquette helps children handle themselves and deal with others with ease. (Fee:  $30)
 
“Common Courtesies Count” – Le Grand Protocol (Ages 8-14)  Mastering good social skills helps children and teens manage their home and school environments effectively.  (Fee:  $35)
 
 
Saturday, November 16:
“Pass the Peas, Please” – La Petit Protocol (Ages 4-7)  Don't miss this opportunity to put young children on the right path to polite table manners as they work through age-appropriate workbooks to learn beginner dining skills and behavior at the table.  (Fee:  $35)
 
“Dining Boot Camp for Kids” – Le Grand Protocol (Ages 8-14)  Children and teens will learn to polish their presence with table manners, dining skills, and polite table behavior.  (Fee:  $35)
 
 
Saturday, December 21:
“Great Events” – La Petit Protocol (Ages 4-7)  Make lasting impressions at holiday parties and milestone events such as Confirmations, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, ceremonies, proms and other formal occasions.  (Fee $30)
 
“Great Events” – Le Grand Protocol (Ages 8-14)  Young ladies and gentlemen alike get noticed when they exude an air of confidence and polish in social situations. Make lasting impressions at holiday parties and milestone events.  (Fee: $30)
