Parents dealing with a sick child may question when to send them to school and when to allow them to stay home.
On Thursday morning, Eyewitness News met with a pediatrician at Geisinger CMC to figure that out.
Here are some things you may want to ask yourself when your child says they are not feeling well.
Pediatrician Dr. Laura Swingle offers this advice"Is your child going to be well enough to learn? so are they going to be able to focus on the classroom? Are they going to be too preoccupied by their illness? are they contagious to other children? Do they have something that is going to be airborne? are they coughing and spreading illness to other children?"
Dr. Swingle says if your child needs medicine or treatment, get to a doctor.
