The Dance in All of Us

“The Dance in All of Us” gives those with autism the opportunity to explore rhythm, body awareness and movement in an effort to improve communication and interaction with others.
Luzerne, Luzerne  County-The Harris Conservatory for the Arts in Luzerne is offering “The Dance in All of Us”, a dance class for children with autism, beginning in October. This class is made possible by a grant from the Luzerne County Autism Coalition.
“The Dance in All of Us” gives those with autism the opportunity to explore rhythm, body awareness and movement in an effort to improve communication and interaction with others.
Participants in “The Dance in All of Us” will attend weekly dance classes touching on ballet and jazz with an emphasis on creative movement and expression.  All students will be accompanied by a parent, counselor, or other responsible person who will act as a “shadow”.  Each class will meet for one hour per week for six weeks.
“The Dance in All of Us” will be conducted by veteran dance professional Elisabeth Harris. A certified instructor with Dance Educators of America, Elisabeth has been teaching specialized dance programs for autistic children and adults for almost two decades.
The classes will be held Fridays at 4:30 p.m. beginning October 4, 2013. The fee for the six week course is only $25. For more information please contact the Harris Conservatory for the Arts at 570-718-0673.
