"The Book of Broadway" is an original musical written and directed by Hanover Area Senior Student, Alyssa Thomas. The curtain will go up on Friday, November 15 at 7pm at the Hanover Area Junior/Senior High School Auditorium.

Thomas wrote this musical for her senior year school project.  The proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Ruth's Place in Wilkes-Barre.  Ruth's place is an emergency shelter for women in Luzerne County.
Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for adults.  There will be a basket raffle and auction the night of the show.

Alyssa told Eyewitness News she chose Ruth's Place because she believes it is a great cause and does not get enough awareness for what they do.

"The Book of Broadway" is about two boys who get detention in their school library and have to clean it out. They find an old book and, as they read it, different musicals come to life, like Grease, Footloose, and many more!
