Teen Girl Robbed At Knifepoint

17-year-old Courtney Disidoro was running the cash register at the Mifflinville Market Saturday night when a man pulled a mask over his face and took out a knife.
Mifflinville, Columbia County -- "It was intimidating."

17-year-old Courtney Disidoro was running the cash register at the Mifflinville Market on Saturday night when a man pulled a mask over his face and took out a knife.

"He walked around, grabbed a bag of cough drops, put them down on the counter and told me to give him all the money in the drawer, that he wasn't playing," said Disidoro.

Disidoro followed his orders and handed over a few hundred dollars. The terrified teenager put her hands in the air and waited for the robber to flee the store.

"I ran to the back and I called 9-1-1," said Disidoro. "I broke down in tears, stayed on the phone until the police came, and my Aunt Kelly came to help me calm down a bit."

"She handled it very well!" said Kelly Lucas.

Lucas heard about the robbery on a police scanner. She was scared for her niece.

"Nobody should go around terrorizing young girls," said Lucas. "There are so many young girls that need to work at night."

Lucas said the Mifflinville Market is a family business with strong roots in the community. She can't remember ever dealing with an incident like this one.

"It's really upsetting to me because my grandparents have had this business for a very long time, so it's just sad to see something like that," said Disidoro.

The family is hoping that someone will recognize the suspect in these surveillance photos.

"Because then I would know that I'm safe and he's not going to be coming back around me or around the store here."

Anyone with information on this robbery in Columbia County is asked to call the South Centre Police Department at (570) 784-8552.
