Special Pediatric Cancer Awareness Night at Mt. Camel HS

Six-year-old Gage Campbell of Catawissa will flip the coin for the opening of the Mount Carmel vs. Southern Columbia High School Football game.
MOUNT CARMEL – Six-year-old Gage Campbell of Catawissa will flip the coin for the opening of the Mount Carmel vs. Southern Columbia High School Football game.
Campbell is battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and is treated at Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital. The coin flip is part of activities at the game acknowledging Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month
In addition, the football teams will wear gold socks during the game in support of Pediatric Cancer Awareness.
Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital’s ThinkBIG Pediatric Cancer Fund is making the socks available to help raise awareness. Representatives from ThinkBIG will be on hand during the game to answer questions about pediatric cancer and the fund that helps local cancer patients.
ThinkBIG is a program that aims to offset stress for pediatric oncology families by providing financial support for unexpected out-of-pocket expenses. Donations and proceeds go directly to help families treated at Janet Weis Children’s Hospital and throughout the entire Geisinger network.
