Santa, Student Athletes Visit Head Start Preschool

Preschoolers enjoyed the special Christmas party.

East Stroudsburg, Monroe County – The athletes and coaches at East Strousdburg University clearly have some good connections. They convinced Santa to stop by Monroe County Head Start.

The preschoolers there shared their wish lists and sang “Jingle Bells” with the
Jolly Old Elf.

The ESU Student Athlete Advisory Committee put the party together. They did crafts
with the kids and passed out gifts. Athlete Kaitlin Blum said, "Just
seeing their reaction when we come and hearing Santa it really means a lot for
all of us to be here."

Santa’s very, very close friend ESU Coach Denny Douds asked him to visit. Santa said
yes right away. He smiled, "You just make time. It's that special time of
the year and it's a special time of year for all boys and girls all over the
world."

The children appreciated the visit from Saint Nick and the Athletes.

The ESU students have put on the party every year for about five years. They use fundraising money and a grant from the NCAA.
