Rising pop star Liam Lis to perform at Wiltsie Center

Lis’ appearance comes after a very successful tour as the support act for Fifth Harmony on their recent fall tour.
Up-and-coming pop star Liam Lis will make a special concert appearance at the Wiltsie Center at the Historic Castle on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 6:45 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m.

Lis’ appearance comes after a very successful tour as the support act for Fifth Harmony on their recent fall tour. Lis also recently opened for R5’s sold-out show at the Pine Belt Arena in Toms River, N.J. The 12-year-old recording artist has been featured on Radio Disney and his videos on YouTube are also very popular.

Lis was first introduced to the Hazleton area when he was invited to perform at the annual Funfest celebration in September. In October, he performed for students attending Hazleton Elementary/Middle School and, since that time, he has had numerous requests to return to the area to perform a concert for the public.

“We have had many local students inquire about booking Liam for a concert and we have been working with his management team to make this event happen,” said Steve Hahn, Wiltsie Center interim executive director. “While Liam’s schedule was occupied with the Fifth Harmony tour, the first date he had available, he offered to perform for the area. His management was insistent that tickets be kept at a very affordable price in order to give all local youth an opportunity to attend.”

Lis said, “I had an amazing time performing at Funfest and for the students and staff at the Castle. The energy and excitement that was a part of my performance was driven by the response of the crowd at both events. I am excited to return and perform my full show for the area.”

Lis began playing piano and writing music at the age of five. He also acts in commercials and models. His YouTube channel has more than 500,000 hits, and he is set to release his first major record in January 2014.

Ticket purchases will go on sale to the general public on Saturday, Nov. 16. Tickets may be purchased through Ticketmaster online at www.ticketmaster.com or at Ticketmaster retail outlets at Boscov’s and Walmart. Tickets for this very special event are only $5. A limited number of VIP meet and greet tickets, which includes a photo opportunity with Lis, will also be available for an additional $5. A portion of the show’s proceeds will go to support the Ronald McDonald House.
Hahn said, “Tickets are expected to sell quickly for this highly anticipated concert and this is a great opportunity to have the best seat in the house for just $5.”
The Wiltsie Center will provide a designated lounge area during the concert for parents to wait for their children. For more information on the performance, visit www.wiltsiecenter.org or www.facebook.com/wiltsiecenter or call toll-free 1-855-WILTSIE (1-855-945-8743).
