Radio Disney coming to Funfest!

Service Electric Brings Radio Disney to Funfest.
For the first time ever, Radio Disney Philadelphia, part of the number one radio network for kids, tweens and families, is coming to Greater Hazleton’s Funfest, and thousands are expected to be on hand for the excitement. Funfest announced today that Radio Disney Philadelphia, along with Service Electric Cablevision, will present interactive entertainment at Funfest right after the Funfest Parade, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 8. And as part of their appearance, they will be giving away tickets to a Selena Gomez concert.
“This is very exciting news for Funfest, and it would not have been possible without the support of our friends at Service Electric Cablevision,” said Funfest executive director Judiann McGrogan. “Service Electric has been one of Funfest’s biggest supporters for many years, exclusively sponsoring balloons for our parade each year.  But when we told them recently that we had the opportunity to bring this nationally known attraction to Funfest, they were quick to offer their financial backing and assistance. It is through their generosity that this great event will take place.”
The Radio Disney Philadelphia Road Crew will be on-site at the corner of Broad and Laurel Streets in Downtown Hazleton right after the Funfest Parade to provide interactive entertainment, fun prizes and giveawawys, and the hottest music from today’s biggest artists.  “Kids on hand for the event will be eligible for fun prizes, including a Radio Disney Prize Pack.  And among the prizes to be given away at Funfest, there will be tickets to see Selena Gomez in concert. We hope everyone will be on hand for this exciting event,” McGrogan said.
Service Electric is marking their ninth year as Funfest’s Diamond Event Sponsor, providing exclusive backing of giant balloons for the Funfest Parade.  As part of their commitment to Funfest, Service Electric employees guide a balloon through the Parade route each year. “But watch for their marchers to have a distinct Disney theme this year, promoting the Radio Disney show, which will follow immediately after the parade,” McGrogan added. She also gave special thanks to Service Electric Division Manager Tim Trently, who spearheads the local support.  “Tim has been one of the best corporate friends Funfest has ever had, not only supporting us financially, but by contributing to the planning of the event.  We are so grateful to him for believing in Funfest enough to support it in such a generous way.”
Radio Disney Philadelphia will be located in the area near the former H.N.B. Building at the northwest corner of Broad and Laurel Streets.  Their presentation will start at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, shortly after the conclusion of the Funfest Parade. The Parade kicks off at 2:30 p.m. in West Hazleton, and is expected to arrive Downtown at around 3pm.
Parking is free for Funfest Weekend at all Hazleton City Municipal lots, thanks to the Hazleton Parking Authority.  There is no event admission, and entertainment is also free.  Funfest will also feature rides, food, and free kids activities at First Presbyterian Church.
