Public Invited to Rachel’s Challenge Followup Meeting

Rachel’s Challenge Followup Meeting November 21
Prior to September of this year many area residents admitted they had never heard of Rachel’s Challenge.  Since that time, more than 12,000 local people have been touched by the organization’s mission to replace violence, bullying and negativity with acts of respect and kindness.  This was realized through the collaborative efforts of Wayne Memorial Hospital, Wayne County Offices of Behavioral and Developmental Programs and Early Intervention, along with four area school districts who hosted student assemblies as well as community and professional programs.
On Thursday, November 21, the community is invited to attend a follow-up meeting at Wayne Memorial Hospital’s David Katz Conference Room at 5:30 p.m.  The focus will be to summarize the success the program has already brought to the community and brainstorm ways to continue the chain reaction of inspiring others with kindness.
“We had such an overwhelming response to Rachel’s Challenge not only in the number of people it touched, but also how deeply they were touched,” stated Donna Decker RN, manager of Community Health at Wayne Memorial Hospital.  “It’s now time for our community—be it professionals, civic or church groups, or individuals to forge the path for sustaining these positive effects moving forward.”
