Hamilton, MD, MS, FAAP will speak at the American College of Lifestyle Medicine’s (ACLM) annual conference in Washington, DC October 27-30, 2013. This year’s theme, “The Treat the Cause Movement Begins” aims to educate the nation’s healthcare providers about the risks and unwanted side-effects of traditional care. Participants will learn the latest evidence and strategies for offering effective and low cost care by implementing healthy lifestyle changes. The ACLM believes this will lower the financial burden on the nation and provide patients with appropriate and safe alternatives to pharmaceutical interventions.

Over 250 physicians, health care professionals, prominent lifestyle medicine leaders, and politicians are expected to attend. Speakers include bestselling author and Integrative Medicine pioneer Dean Ornish, MD. Dr. Ornish has previously been chosen by LIFE magazine as “one of the fifty most influential members of his generation” and by Forbes magazine as “one of the seven most powerful teachers in the world.”

Dr. Hamilton feels honored to share the conference stage with Dr. Ornish and other Lifestyle Medicine trailblazers including Caldwell Esselstyn, MD and David L. Katz, MD, MPH.
