Communications Coordinator Elizabeth Richardson said, "This is really a Mecca. People
come here to see the foliage."
The= Pocono region has more than 120 types of trees with different colors and peak viewing
times. Foresters and park rangers give the bureau information on when they will
look the best.
Since tourism is the number on job provider in the region, the PMVB watches the
change of seasons closely. Richardson said, "That's important for the
local region 'cause it brings in a lot of tourists and a lot of tourists dollars."
Business owners also watch. Maria and Daniel Bickart recently opened Duet Café in
Stroudsburg. Daniel said, "It's a cozy little spot in our cozy little town."
He said a vibrant fall season could bring more customers to his outdoor garden
dining area. He added, "If it brings more tourism that's great. As a small
business, as a local business we appreciate more business. So more is

foliage photo and put it on instagram with the hashtag #TakeOnPocono you could
win a vacation for four. Richardson smiled, "We realize that every year
people come. They take tons of pictures. It's such a popular time here. So we
want everyone to share their fall foliage photos."
